Cooling Systems Guide

Cooling is part of nearly every laser and light system on this site, and it appears in three forms: air cooling, water cooling, and semiconductor cooling. Air cooling moves cooled air across the skin surface and is the principle of the standalone air cooling device, which lists a 1500 watt cooling power and a temperature range of minus 4 to minus 30 degrees Celsius. Water cooling circulates cooled water through the system and appears in the diode laser and SHR listings. Semiconductor cooling uses thermoelectric elements and appears in the diode, SHR, and cryolipolysis listings.

The standalone air cooling device is the only cooling product with its own parameter table: fan speed at 1 to 8 levels, a 2.5 metre treatment pipe, outlet adaptors in three sizes, and a power source of AC 100 to 240 volts. Its safety class entry is reproduced exactly as listed and is not expanded into a certification claim. Before ordering a cooling device, confirm which laser systems the adaptors fit, whether it can run continuously for your session length, and what maintenance the refrigeration circuit needs.

Built-in cooling is different from standalone cooling. The diode laser model lists a treatment head temperature down to minus 16 degrees Celsius with a constant temperature refrigeration system. The SHR-950 lists a lowest head temperature of minus 10 degrees Celsius with fan, water, and semiconductor cooling combined. The cryolipolysis model lists semiconductor plus water plus air cooling. Compare built-in cooling on the temperature it holds during continuous use, not on the lowest number in the table.

For the standalone device, see the air cooling device page, and for the models with built-in cooling, see the diode laser page, the SHR-950 page, and the cryolipolysis page.
