Tattoo Removal Equipment Buying Guide

Tattoo removal equipment is compared on pulse width, energy, wavelength, spot size, and frequency. The picosecond model on this site lists a 2000 picosecond pulse width, 100 to 800 millijoules, wavelengths of 1064 and 532 nanometres, a spot size of 1 to 5 millimetres, and a frequency of 1 to 20 hertz. The Q-switch model lists energy tiers with matching frequency tiers: 100 to 300 millijoules at 1 to 20 hertz, 350 to 550 millijoules at 1 to 15 hertz, and 600 to 800 millijoules at 1 to 10 hertz.

The two tables must be kept separate. The Q-switch model's wavelength is not published, and this guide does not fill it from the picosecond model or from general knowledge. A buyer who needs a wavelength for the Q-switch model must ask the supplier to confirm it in writing, and must not accept the picosecond model's wavelengths as an answer. Equally, the picosecond model's spot size must not be applied to the Q-switch model, whose spot size is also unpublished.

Beyond the table, ask about cooling during continuous operation, handpieces and consumables, protective equipment, training, and the warranty scope. Tattoo removal is performed by trained staff, and the treatment plan depends on ink, depth, and skin type. No outcome, session count, or clearance result is promised in this guide or on the product pages, and any such claim from a supplier should be examined with the same discipline applied to the tables here.

For the two models themselves, see the picosecond laser machine page and the Q-switch laser machine page, and for the wider category, see the tattoo removal category page.
